Sorafenib is used to treat late-stage kidney cancer (advanced renal cell carcinoma), liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) that cannot be treated by surgery, and differentiated thyroid cancer that has come back or spread to other parts of your body. Sorafenib is an antineoplastic (cancer) agent.

Sorafenat (Sorafenib Tablet IP) is a prescription anti-cancer medicine, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, used for advanced liver, kidney, and thyroid cancers, working by blocking signals for cancer cell growth. Taken orally, typically twice daily with water, on an empty or low-fat stomach, it helps stop cancer spread but has common side effects like fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, skin rashes, and high blood pressure, requiring regular monitoring by a doctor. 

Sorafenib tosylate works by blocking proteins that signal cancer cells to divide. It also blocks proteins that signal the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Blocking these signals keeps cancer cells from growing and may kill them.
